High Potential Women

Supporting women to achieve their full potential and helping organisations to get the most from their female leaders and rising stars is a passion of mine. Much has been achieved over the last 20 years but we still need to see more women staying in career for the long term and moving through to top level executive roles. Drawing on my involvement in the diversity agenda throughout my career and my own personal experience navigating the challenge of combining motherhood with a demanding career, I believe coaching can have a transformative effect on female leaders and potential stars, encouraging them to think strategically about their careers, how they can plan for longevity and bring fulfilment and balance to their roles.

Transitioning roles

Applying conscious thought to preparing for a change in role can have a significant effect on the success of that transition. Often people are “too busy” to focus ahead of time on what the change in role means, how they might adapt their way of operating and what specific goals they want to achieve in what timescale. Making sure time is carved out for developing a strategy for maximising potential in the first few months of a new role can deliver enormous upsides in terms of long term success.

Transitioning out

This is an area of focus for me of which I have direct personal experience. The transition out of a full-time executive career is a pivotal moment in people’s lives and one that some advance planning and preparation can really facilitate. It is never too early to start broadening options and experience to maximise the choices you have at this stage of your career. As well as practical steps, it is also important to consider the psychological impact of moving from a demanding, highly structured life to one with more freedom to choice how and where you spend your time.

Business Development

Developing a business requires strategic thinking, the space to be creative and often, forcing ourselves out of the comfort zone of doing the work that is already on your desk. Coaching can be key in providing motivation and support in all of these areas. Having an objective listener who can reflect back and challenge thinking can prove invaluable for strategic planning. My experience in building a business and operating on both the sell side and the buy side of a market means that I have an in-depth understanding of potential approaches and the challenges faced by business leaders and organisations in taking a business to the next stage.
